There is nothing sadder than washing an old dog who never really liked water. His lips and his ears droop and his facial expression becomes something near “I’ve completely given up on life.” His wet lavender scent afterwards is little consolation.
The clouds were amazing all day today.
I call this one “Impending Wildrose Doom”
Taken while I was watching all the teenagers run from the legislature under the looming rain clouds just after 4:20.
Frosty!
Why did you throw a TV over the bridge? Or something… There is nothing that draws me to take a walk in the river valley more than to see what’s fallen off or been thrown off the high level.
Sherbrook goodies! Kites, beer and a long, drawn out, kinda bad movie. Wonderful Saturday night.
The geese are back. Went to Hawrelak to fly kites today and these guys were making a heck of a racket out on the pond. Welcome home.
Went to the Common on it’s first official day open! I’ve been living in the Grandin area for a few years and therefore used to recreate at Martinis. We were heart broken when it closed down many months ago for no [apparent to us] reason.
Anyway, we have been following the transformation of The Common in Martini’s old location for a while now and after experiencing it I must say I am very satisfied with the new décor/mood/menu. Beer isn’t too expensive, wicked food menu at a reasonable price and they kept the pictures on the wall. Unfortunately there weren’t any historical Edmonton photos that I could see but there were a few great bear photos framed in old golden frames.
My awful blackberry photos don’t give too much away but early evening it’s a nice bright white interior with clean lines and dark wood. Good service and the music wasn’t too loud. Best part, only two TVs!
I just happened to be wearing the perfect tights for these pretty blue things. I may not be the kind of person who would normally wear these but maybe some other fun ladies from Edmonton need a floral bouquet for the foot?
Did we ever get some interesting shoes in today. They are Neosens from Spain and I am quite impressed. Fit long, neat styles, great colors. Come try some on!
Walks in the river valley this sunny day. Everyone was very active today. Running stairs, jogging and biking. Felt like people were giving me looks because I wasn’t pushing myself to physical exertion.
I’m going to Maui in a week and a half! So glad its -30 C and snowy here, I’ll appreciate the sun, plants and warm water so much more :)
I just took this picture of our giant full moon! I love my camera, you can even see craters and Russian cosmonauts!
Incredibly vibrant sunrise this morning over south east Edmonton. The skies were on fire! I love Edmonton’s winter sunrises. It almost makes eventually getting out of bed worth it.
I actually ventured out of the house today! What an utter disappointment. All I wanted was a sandwich, a strong coffee and a bean grinder. Instead, I bought beautiful flowers and ended up practically running home so they didn’t freeze (not that it’s anywhere near freezing out) May I just say that the Starbucks on 109 and jasper failed at having any sandwiches or coffee grinders. All they had was downtown office workers, lined up poorly.
